Though we have not released it to the TER, we do have TVFW version 2 available.
It does work with TYPO3 6.2. We have used it on our customer sites.

Here is the extension manual which has a link to the GIT repo with the code for version 2.
You should use the develop branch.

You can use version 1 skins with version 2, but will need to add one constant to the skin (detailed in manual).

Installing TV Framework in a TYPO3 Dummy Package

These instructions assume that you are very familiar with installing and setting up TYPO3 from scratch.

First of all, make sure you know why you need to install from scratch instead of starting from the Busy Noggin QuickSite. The QuickSite may be a better starting point for you. It only includes a few extensions more than are absolutely needed for the framework and they can be easily uninstalled if you want. You can download the QuickSite here.

But assuming you need to build from a dummy package, here are the instructions.

Install the TYPO3 Dummy Package and TemplaVoila

  1. You must first install the TYPO3 Dummy Package then work through the image processing settings and any other settings in the install tool.
  2. In the extension manager make sure you have Enable Extensions Without Review and have retrieved the latest extension list.
  3. You should then install TemplaVoila 1.4.2 or higher. When installing you must check Enable Static files for data structures. You will see it when you select Static DS from the category drop down. You should NOT use the static DS wizard.

Setup Page Tree and GRSP

  1. Next set up a page tree like shown. You must have SysFolders for Site Resources, Generated Content-1 and Generated Content-2.
  2. In the page properties of the root page of your site set the Site Resources SysFolder for the General Record Storage Page (GRSP).

Install the TemplaVoila Framework Extension

  1. In the Extension Manager search the repository for templavoila_framework then import it and install it.
  2. On the configuration page select the Site Resources SysFolder as the target for the TOs and hit "Import."
  3. When the import is finished you will see a message confirming the import.

Install a SKin

Next, search the repository for a skin. You can use the search term "skin_" to find them. Make sure you select a skin for the TemplaVoila Framework and not a backend skin. You can then import and install the skin.

Setup Main TypoScript Template

  1. On the root page of your site create a TypoScript template. Add CSS Styled Content as a static template.
  2. On its options tab select checkboxes for setting rootlevel, clearing constants and clearing setup then save the record.
  3. After saving the template record you will now have a new tab in your template record called Skin Selector where you will see your installed skin. Click Select Skin and save the template record.

Enter Site Constants

Click on the Template module on the left and select Constant Editor from the drop down on the right. Then below that select Site Constants from the drop down where you can enter the constants for the site URL and the generated content sources.

Final Steps

In the page properties of the root page of your site, go to the appearance tab and select a template. Save the page properties and clear the TYPO3 cache. That's it. You should see your skin on the front end of the site.

Additionally you should install the typoscript_code extension as you will probably need it to create menus in the generated content section.
